friday, april 5: poetry of earth
In celebration of Poetry Month and Earth Day, we’re putting the focus on the lyrical beauty of our world. Art is Life, and Life is Art! We’ll have spoken-word events and art, and we'll also be bringing in some of the lineup from our rained-out Black Expressions festival.
As always, Oakland First Fridays is free (though donations are always welcome), and fun for the whole family. Come join Oakland's premiere event celebrating our arts, culture and community!
registration is open for Friday, april 5!

Oakland First Fridays is a production of KONO, the Koreatown/Northgate Community Benefit District, so we’re all about promoting the happenings in our footprint. On Thursday March 21st Forage Kitchen (478 25th Street) will be kicking off Movie Night! Doors open 7pm, the show starts with Town Spirit, a short about Oakland’s bar scene, and the main feature is the renowned Oakland feature Sorry to Bother You. Proceeds from the show will benefit KONO’s neighborhood improvement projects. Click the banner for more info!
