Alessandra Chimienti Gibbs is an experienced trilingual event coordinator, talented and passionate about creating and managing events, overseeing public relations, and engaging with the community.

She moved to Oakland from Italy four years ago and has created a strong community of support for Southern Italians who live in California. She is involved in the production of cultural events that aim to share her country’s traditions and culture with the Bay Area while creating an inclusive and supportive environment for foreigners who arrive in the States disoriented and alone.

Alessandra is a strong Oakland First Fridays supporter and lover and she has attended many of our events in the past years. She has also been very active in our community by volunteering for the Oakland Unified School District and she recently graduated as Valedictorian from Merritt College with a triple major in business. She speaks English, Italian, and Spanish and she is thrilled to be part of the Oakland First Fridays team!

Denice Lucas is excited to be the new Program Manager at First Friday. She came to us because she has a passion for the arts and community involvement. She has over 15 years of Event Planning experience with an emphasis in coordinating community outreach projects.

She is the founder of the Oakland Lunch Project which feeds 200 individuals every month. She is an Oakland native and an artist in her spare time. She is working on finishing up her degree in Communications at CSU East Bay with plans to pursue her MNA (Master of Nonprofit Administration). She hopes to one day start her own nonprofit.
