It’s looking a lot like rain, so no Oakland First Fridays street festival for February 1st. We’re very sorry, and will be back with the theme Black Expressions on March 1st. There’s still plenty to do in Oakland, here are some starting points:
INTERRUPTION SHOW at the All-Out Comedy Theater
Standup comedian Dalia Malek (BBC Radio, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, SF Sketchfest) and rotating co-hosts interrupt stand-up comedians mid-performance to ask burning questions, dig into backstories, and find out what happened next. 2525 Telegraph, doors open at 8:30pm, show at 9:00pm, $5 online/$8 door.
FIRST FRIDAYS BURLESQUE at the Stork Club
KONO’s beloved dive bar hosts this sexy esoteric revue every Friday night at 10pm, right in our footprint: 2330 Telegraph.
& THE OTHERS : COLLECTIVE PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION at Classic Cars West
Classic Cars West Gallery is thrilled to open the 2019 Season with “& The Others”, an exhibition by the eponymous Bay Area photography collective. As their name suggests, community and plurality are at the core of & The Others’ artistic mission, and a source of inspiration for challenging the aesthetic and political status quo. 411 26th Street, free.
HOMAGE, a group show at Warehouse 416
416 26th Street, free.
