‍MOTHERLAND BOOK RELEASE at Chapter 510
Celebrate the release of our first book of the season, Motherland, Oakland poems inspired by home by Hoover Elementary 3rd graders. Perla Yasmeen Meléndez created a poetry writing workshop to help students identify the complexities of home, and they drafted, revised, and distilled their senses into beautiful poems. These poems have been compiled into a gorgeous hand-made book that is a must see (and have).
