Our permit requires Oakland First Fridays to shut down at 9pm and the street sweepers roll in soon after. If you’re not ready to go home, here is some other stuff to do (as well as some cool stuff going on in KONO).

SECOND ANNUAL FREAK SHOW WITH FREAK COMIX at Classic Cars West Beer Garden
Mutual Friends is a group show curated by Oakland-based artist Jocelyn Tsaih, featuring work from California-based artists. MOTHERLAND BOOK RELEASE at Chapter 510
Celebrate the release of our first book of the season, Motherland, Oakland poems inspired by home by Hoover Elementary 3rd graders. Perla Yasmeen Meléndez created a poetry writing workshop to help students identify the complexities of home, and they drafted, revised, and distilled their senses into beautiful poems. These poems have been compiled into a gorgeous hand-made book that is a must see (and have). FIRST FRIDAY FOOD FASCINATION at Chabot Space and Science Center

THE INTERRUPTION SHOW at the All-Out Comedy Theater
The Interruption Show features standup comedian Dalia Malek (BBC Radio, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, SF Sketchfest) and rotating co-hosts interrupt stand-up comedians mid-performance to ask burning questions, dig into backstories, and find out what happened next.
